Pura Luxe: A Non-Toxic Smoothing Treatment

The Pura Luxe treatment is safe and highly effective for all natural hair types. It is formaldehyde and sulfate free and made from natural proteins and aromatic essential oils which penetrate and protect the hair. This allows for a customizable smoothing treatment, leaving hair straight, frizz and damage free, and filled with moisture and shine. 

How does it work? 

The presence of amino acids will create keratin rich hair making it smooth, strong, shiny and healthy which improves the condition of the hair.The Keratin protein is just one small part of the 18 amino acids which make up the actual hair structure. Cysteine, a nonessential amino acid, is the active ingredient that allows the Pura Luxe treatment to leave hair strong, shiny, and smooth.

During the process of this treatment the product is fully rinsed from the hair before any heat is applied and this is what makes it non-toxic. While most keratins are bonded to the hair by flat ironing the product into the hair creating toxic fumes. The Pura Luxe treatment requires a processing time to sit on the hair instead before rinsed and followed up by heat styling.

How long does it take and what is the cost?

This treatment takes about 3 hours or more based on your hair length and density. We start the treatment at $300.

How long does it last?

The Pura Luxe lasts about 6 months but it is safe to do again before that if needed. The longevity of the treatment is based on at-home care. We recommend a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and a weekly hydrating mask to keep the treatment locked into the hair.

What type of hair is it safe for?

Everyone! No matter your age or if your color your hair the Pura Luxe is great for all. We do recommend waiting and doing your color after the treatment as it can sometimes shift your color slightly. There is no wait time as we wash your hair before you leave so you can color right after or just continue you on with your life!
